Obtain a comprehensive knowledge of your company's data processing environment and operations by conducting a data mapping project with Rexel
Rexel offers a data mapping service that uses a custom-designed framework to create a comprehensive map of processes, assets, and suppliers. This map enhances data management and adds business value.

By gaining a deeper understanding of the usage of personal data from internal and external sources, organizations can enhance transparency and improve data migration, integration, and transformation processes.

Our data mapping methodology combines elements from various industry-standard frameworks to provide a thorough approach. The framework has been tested and used by various organizations across different sectors, with varying sizes. Rexel's team of data privacy consultants has extensive experience in mapping data processing activities and ensuring compliance with all relevant data protection legislation.

Data mapping projects can be a challenging and resource-intensive task, especially for large organizations that deal with massive amounts of data and various processing activities. The process requires an in-depth understanding of different data types and the relationship between different data sets.

While automated data mapping tools can provide a solution, they lack the human perspective required to understand the impact on an organization's risk profile. On the other hand, manual data mapping performed without certified experts can be a time-consuming process for key stakeholders and may result in errors in the final documentation.

  • Achieve Business Goals
  • Gain Insight into your Data Processing Environment

Our Approach

To kick off the data mapping process, Rexel conducts workshops with the organization's key stakeholders to gather information on how they use personal data and the processing activities they perform. This information is used to create a complete record of processes, critical assets, and suppliers, and to understand data security measures, including cross-border data flows.

Based on these insights, Rexel will create the necessary documentation for a Record of Processing Activities (RoPA). As a follow-up service, Rexel can provide the tools necessary for the organization to maintain the record on its own. Updating this documentation is a legal requirement and can be handled by Rexel's data privacy consultants as an ongoing service.

If the organization needs additional tools to aid in future data privacy projects, Rexel can provide support with tool selection and implementation.
